hi, this is sarah mclellan in new york cityhere at june parody's dance studio. on behalf of expert village, i'm going to teach youtoday some basic and beginning tap moves. come on in! so one of the most important thingsthat is good for tap dancings is you tap shoes. you can find many different styles of shoesand i'm going to tell you a little bit about my shoes and what makes them different. soi actually grow up wearing tap shoes that
used irish dance solo dresses for sale, had a heel on them. these i think work reallywell for that old school broadway style the very rhythmics basic tap dancing. what happenedwas when i moved to new york, i kind of was emerged into this kind of different stylewhich was much more based on the old poofing and the kind of that side of tap dancing inwhich everybody was wearing these flat tap
shoes. i found that very interesting and theseare actually hand built and hand stitched on the bottom. as you can see i had theseones for quick a few years now but once you have a pair that you really love they lastfor quiet a while. but very important tap plates on the bottom with a little sound underneathwhich is what enables you to make that sound
on a wooden floor or on a dance floor. soget yourself a pair of tap shoes and you are ready to go. so if you are starting off tappingand you are looking for the right kind of shoe i would suggest probably going for theflat shoes first. you can call your local dance studio or even look it up online andfind the best shoes for you.
