in this clip i'd like to show you what wewould wear in performance when we're doing lamban. the dance that we've been workingon is a celebrational dance and you would wear a grand boubou. a grand boubou is verylight and airy. it's open on the sides and it has one place for your head since you onlyhave one head. in some areas of africa this is also known as an agbada. so a grand boubouor an agbada is the costume that's worn when
dance costumes for sale to the public, you're doing lamban. now once you're in itcorrectly you have open space for the hands
and i have the corners tied just to give ita little extra weight. also because i don't want to step on it. so when we're dancinglamban, you're stretching your hands out wide and holding on to your material so that waywhen you do your movements, you can control
it.
